PRESS RELEASE

The Mayor and Council of the City of Clarkston will hold three (3) public hearings at the Clarkston City Hall, 3921 Church Street, to discuss the proposed millage rate.  The first public hearing will be held on June 23, 2011 at 7:00 pm.  The second public hearing will be held on June 30, 2011 at 10:30am. The final public hearing and a special call meeting to set the millage rate will be held at the Clarkston City Hall on June 30, 2011, at 7:00 pm.  The City Council is proposing to adopt a millage rate of 14.00 mills that does exceed the rollback rate of 13.684. Due to a decrease on the Net Tax Digest due to revaluations, the rollback rate is larger than the 2010 adopted millage rate of 11.313.  The rollback rate is calculated to provide the same tax revenue to the levying authority as was received the previous year.  All interested parties are invited to attend.

Update: June 30, 2011
The Clarkston City Council voted at the June 30, 2011 Special Call meeting, to adopt a millage rate of 14.00 mills for 2011.
