All requests for rezoning of a property, building permits for construction, sign permits and variances for property in the City of Clarkston must be reviewed, approved and permitted by the City of Clarkston. All applications are brought before the Planning & Zoning Committee for review and recommendation. Applications forms are submitted through the Building Department Office during normal office hours. Sign applications must be reviewed by Code Enforcement prior to going to Zoning & Review Committees. All applicants must have their completed application and all supporting documentation submitted to the City Admin office by the 1st of the month prior to the Zoning & Review scheduled meeting. Planning and Zoning Committee currently meets on the third Monday of each month, subject to change.
The Planning & Zoning Committee are staffed five members who are residents of the City of Clarkston. The Committee has specific responsibilities for reviewing proposed projects and development. They serve as a recommending body to the Mayor and Council. The requests are then reviewed and voted on at a City Council Meeting.
