The Clarkston Business Association meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Clarkston Community Center.
Attention all residents:
Previously there was a sewage spill in Friendship Forest Wildlife Sanctuary. Over 600 gallons of raw sewage is estimated to have spilled out onto the marshy field and into Peachtree Creek. The cause of the spill was a clog in the main sewer line due to grease. Another spill happened at the same place about a year ago.
It is extremely important for residents NOT to pour grease or oil into their drains. Such spills as these pour untreated human waste and everything else that you put in your household drains directly onto the land and into the nearest stream from the point at which they spill over from manholes or other weak points such as capped off drains in a building or basement. Please allow grease and cooking oil to cool and then place it in your household garbage.
Please spread this news whenever you have an opportunity to do so.

Water Conservation
Although Georgiaʼs water resources seem abundant, they are finite. As Georgiaʼs population and economy grow, there will be increasing demands on our stateʼs water resources. As Georgia rises to meet the challenges this growth will bring, we face the necessity of changing the way we think about our water resources. Georgians are becoming more aware of the need to change water management practices and are more willing than ever to adjust routines to help conserve water and sustain our resources.
Water conservation can help Georgians maximize the benefits realized from every gallon of water withdrawn from our resources. Efficient water use across all major water use sectors will help ensure that we have the water to meet future needs as our population and economy grow.
Georgiaʼs water conservation implementation plan (WCIP) is designed to foster a culture of conservation in our state. It is intended to guide Georgia business owners, farmers, homeowners, water service providers, and government officials toward greater water efficiency in an effort to help sustain Georgiaʼs precious water resources.

No Neighborhood Left Behind Initiative
Effective immediately, the “No Neighborhood Left behind” Initiative will be implemented within the City of Clarkston ‘The No Neighborhood Left Behind Program is a community based law enforcement initiative that will enhance our relationship with the Community while simultaneously addressing the quality of life issues and persons engaged in nefarious conduct that seek to tear away the fabric of our community.
The parameters of the initiative are as follows:
Every officer shall seek to enrich the community by creating or cultivating existing relationships with the people we serve. In order to do so effectively, we must open the lines of communication by aggressively reaching out to our community by doing the following:
1. While performing store checks within your area of patrol, post a “No Neighborhood Left behind” card underneath the doors of our businesses.
2. Supervisors shall grid the City into sectors at which time every member of the service (MOS) shall participate in visiting each and every home, apartment community and business and leave an initiative card as prescribed in #1, or with the owner personally.
3. When making any contact with persons in the community, increase our omni-presence in the prevention/deterrence of crime, increase our probability in catching crimes in progress and to offer our residents an outlet to discuss pressing issues in their respective communities as well. The card has a phone number to call for more information about the initiative or to pass along intelligence accordingly.
4. It shall be the responsibility of the supervisor to ensure that locations visited are properly documented.
5. Every MOS shall have no less than 50 initiative cars on their person/vehicle at all times and shall ensure to perform a prescribed amount of initiative work per day. This, in addition to providing them to every person encountered throughout your tour of duty.
6. Intelligence gathered as a direct result of contacts made through this initiative will be aggressively analyzed and adjudicated in an expedited basis.
7. When feasible, we will perform community sweeps where teams of officers on foot, are canvassing the neighborhoods, apartment complexes, businesses and recreational area to include the bike paths.
8. The Chief is looking at funding and grants to purchase two wheel and three wheel mobile units to utilize, in areas of shopping centers, residential community events and on bike trails.
